Causes of Scratches In The Process of Making Aluminum Cans

There are many processes in the process of making cans. If not handled properly, it is easy to scratch the tin layer. In severe cases, the alloy layer may be damaged, which is an important factor in promoting the content and tin and accelerating the corrosion of the inner wall of the aluminum can. Therefore, each process of canning must be operated carefully and carefully.

Causes of scratches in the process of making cans

  1. The adjustment and control of the pressing plate and positioning plate of the cutting machine cannot be too tight, otherwise it will cause the can body strip-shaped wiredrawing scratches

  2. The cutting edge of the can body plate has burrs, which is easy to scratch the next material when feeding in a circle. Therefore, it is necessary to check the geometric dimensions and shape of the can body plate frequently, and sharpen the cutting edge of the shearing machine in time if necessary.

  3. The can body conveying track is worn, and dust and impurities will also cause scratches on the can body.

  4. Improper adjustment of the sizing gauge, too tight or insensitive guide wheel will cause scratches.

  5. The can delivery track and can distributor are worn or adjusted too tight, which will cause scratches in the can delivery process.

  6. Wear of the flanging die, especially for the impact flanging machine, the flanging die is not standardized, the flanging curve is not smooth and has a segmented slope, which will cause abrasions on the flanging mouth. The flanging spinning wheel of the spinning flanging machine is not sensitive and not calibrated properly, which will also cause abrasions on the flanging mouth.

  7. Can sealing curling scratches

  • The can sealing machine has poor can sealing accuracy

  • The can sealing head and roller are not standardized, and the corresponding pressure head and roller are not selected according to the different thickness, hardness and can diameter of the tinplate.

  • The groove curve of the can sealing roller is not smooth or worn.

  • The can sealing head and roller do not cooperate well and are not adjusted properly.

  • The aluminum can lid (bottom) drop cover and the can sealing machine cover feeding are not coordinated enough.
